THE BEST TIPS FOR PROPERLY CLEANING THE TANK OF YOUR ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE
The easiest way to know if it’s time to clean the tank of your electronic cigarette is to rely on the flavour of your e-liquid.
If your e-liquid starts to taste burnt when you inhale it or the flavours you’re normally used to start to fade, it’s time to think about cleaning your e-cigarette.
This can happen for several reasons. Sometimes it’s because your spool isn’t clean. Other times it’s because the cotton (or the wick) is too dirty or worn out. It could also be that cleaning became necessary because you used too many different e-liquids in a row. There is nothing wrong with using different flavours, but this use can make them indistinguishable from each other.
So if you’re looking forward to using the new e-liquid, you might want to clean your tank to get the best possible flavour without any residue.
How to disassemble the tank of your electronic cigarette?
During this step, you must not only remove the tank from your electronic cigarette, but you must also separate the different parts of it.
If you are unfamiliar with your tank, it may be a good idea to consult the instruction manual that your electronic cigarette manufacturer has provided you.
Otherwise, you can usually do this:
- Remove the tank (or atomizer) from the electronic cigarette
- Remove the drip tip from the top cap
- Unscrew the top cap from the glass or plastic chamber
- Carefully set aside the glass or plastic chamber
- Remove the spool and the cotton
The goal you want to achieve here is to have all the rooms separated from each other so that you can clean them individually.
How to properly clean the tank of your electronic cigarette?
Sometimes the cleanliness of your tank may not be the issue. In this case, it is necessary to check if your coil or your wick need to be replaced. You will be able to understand that it is time to change them by noting the slightly blackened colour of the cotton or the accumulation of grime on your spool.
When it comes to cleaning, don’t make it too difficult for yourself because water will do just fine.
You can fill a bowl with warm water and wash the parts in it or simply run them under the tap.
Use a cloth to remove any excess e-liquid or built-up dirt. In some cases, you can use dish soap or 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean the parts. Isopropyl alcohol is very effective in cleaning tanks that are particularly dirty or neglected for too long.
The most important thing to remember here is to make sure you rinse the parts well, wipe them dry and let them dry for about fifteen minutes before reassembling your tank.
