WHAT TYPE OF BATTERY TO CHOOSE?
A battery works on the same principle as a rechargeable battery and will supply electricity to your box. The term accu is short for the accumulator, a removable and rechargeable battery. For many years, it has been used for the batteries of mobile electronic devices (cameras, camcorders) and thus quickly aroused the interest of manufacturers of electronic cigarettes.
A battery, why?
Unlike models with integrated batteries, battery boxes offer many advantages and the possibility of replacing a battery when it is at the end of its life, rather than replacing the entire battery, or recharging it via an external charger. The batteries also offer higher autonomy, the capacity of a battery is generally higher than 2500mAh. With a double battery box, it is easy to reach a capacity of 5000 – 6000 mAh.
A battery is defined by different characteristics that will allow you to differentiate them and make your choice.
The format of a battery
The first criterion to take into account when choosing a battery is the format. Manufacturers offer batteries in the format 18350, 18650, 20700, 21700 and even 26650. The diameter varies and the height changes. It is essential to refer to the data provided by the manufacturer to know which format to favour.
Some models of e-cigarettes can be compatible with several formats. For example, a box using 21700 batteries can sometimes also be compatible with 18650, via the use of an adapter. However, the majority of current boxes require the installation of a battery or two 18650 batteries.
The capacity of a battery
Another important point is the capacity of the battery. Indicated in milliamps ( mAh), this corresponds to the autonomy of the battery. The higher the capacity, the longer the battery will offer and will allow you to vape longer. For example, a battery with a capacity of 3000mAh will have more autonomy than a battery of 2000mAh.
The discharge current of a battery
This is a crucial element to analyze with rigour especially if you have a mechanical mod devoid of any security. This discharge current, indicated by the “A” on the batteries for the amps, gives you an indication of the resistance that can be installed in your clearomizer or atomizer. – It is recommended to take a battery with a discharge current of 35A for a mechanical mod and a sub-ohm resistance. – A battery with only 20A will be recommended for resistances greater than 1 ohm. because the battery will be less stressed and the amperage will not necessarily have to be high.
Respect the rules, follow the instructions provided by the manufacturers and everything will be fine. To your chargers!
