WHEN TO RECHARGE AND REFILL YOUR ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE?
Accustomed to the traditional cigarette, we do not always have the reflex to recharge our e-cigarettes. However, like a mobile phone, for example, it works using a battery, which can be integrated or come in the form of a battery, which you must recharge to be able to use your vape. Filling the clearomizer or atomizer is also an important point that should not be overlooked.
But when to recharge your electronic cigarette? And when to fill your e-cigarette? We tell you everything in this guide!
THERE IS A LOSS OF POWER WHEN YOU VAPE
One of the first signs that indicate that it is time to recharge your battery or your batteries is the loss of power felt when you vape. You take a puff on your electronic cigarette and very little vapour escapes, you are forced to pull harder than usual. The battery no longer delivers enough watts to allow the resistance to heat up. This point is essentially true for mechanical mods! On electronic mods, the presence of the chipset makes it possible to compensate for this loss of power. You will therefore have to rely on the LEDs or the screen!
THE ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE FLASHES
On some models of electronic cigarettes, an indicator light comes on and/or flashes quickly when the battery is empty. This is for example the case of the Sky Solo kit from Vaporesso, the Reax Mini kit from Aspire or the DotAIO from Dotmod whose switch LED lights up red when the e-cigarette needs to be recharged.
THE CHARGING INDICATOR SHOWS AN EMPTY BATTERY
It is not always easy to know when to recharge your electronic cigarette. Generally, if you use a box or a box, the charge indicator is visible via a small Oled screen. This allows you to view your different settings (watts, CT, etc.) but also to be able to see the remaining battery level.
WHEN TO REFILL YOUR ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE?
To produce vapour, the e-cigarette must be charged with e-liquid. Depending on the size of your tanks, the tanks for electronic cigarettes empty more or less quickly. For example, a pod can generally contain less e-liquid than a kit with a clearomizer or an atomizer.
A LOW LEVEL OF E-LIQUID
If you have a transparent tank, which is the case for most vaping materials, the remaining e-liquid level is visible. However, do not wait until your atomizer or clearomizer is empty to fill it. Indeed, it is recommended to always leave a few millilitres of e-liquid so as not to burn out your coils, the Dry Hit being particularly annoying. Some electronic cigarettes also have protection against this little inconvenience, such as the DotAIO from Dotmod, for example.
A BURNT TASTE AND LESS DENSE VAPOR
If your tank is opaque and you cannot know the level of e-liquid remaining, you will have to rely on the taste and the vapour released by your electronic cigarette.
As explained above, when the tank of your e-cigarette is empty, the resistance then has no more e-liquid to vaporize, it burns. If you vape at this time, you risk a Dry-Hit. The warning sign is a slight burnt taste at first. If you find yourself confronted with this present case, it is either that you have to change your resistance, or that there is not enough e-liquid in your tank and you have to fill it quickly!
You may also notice a decrease in vapour production. Since the resistance has almost no more e-liquid to vaporize, it cannot do its job!
In the case of drippers, this problem is rarely encountered. Indeed, by simply removing the top cap you can directly access the assembly and know precisely if the cotton is well soaked!
A RESISTANCE THAT WEARS OUT TOO QUICKLY
A resistance that wears out too quickly is sometimes the witness of an e-liquid whose PGVG ratio is not suitable for your material. If you use, for example, an e-liquid with more than 50% vegetable glycerin in a pod, the resistance will be unable to vaporize it and will clog up very quickly. In this specific case, you must fill your tank with a new e-liquid at the appropriate PGVG rate. Unfortunately, it is sometimes too late and the liquid will have got the better of the coil… The only option will be to replace the used resistor with a new one.
CONCLUSION
You now know when to recharge your electronic cigarette. But be careful not to wait until your battery is completely discharged to recharge it. Indeed, lithium Ion batteries do not appreciate this practice which greatly reduces their lifespan. however, if you plan to store your batteries for a long period, it is strongly recommended that you do not fully charge them. Prolonged inactivity leads to a gradual discharge of these!
As for the filling, be sure to keep an eye on your tank or your assembly so as not to be short of liquid. You will thus be able to avoid premature wear of your resistance and keep the dreaded dry-hit away from you. Happy vaping!
