HOW TO CHARGE YOUR BATTERIES?

As many know, some electronic cigarettes work with an already integrated battery while others work with one or more batteries, these large batteries to be integrated into your electronic cigarette.

Why charge your batteries in an external charger?

You have surely already noticed micro-USB or USB type C ports on your electronic cigarettes, whether they are with integrated batteries or rechargeable batteries. In the first case, this USB port is used to charge the battery of the e-cigarette. In the second, it can be used to charge the batteries inside the electronic cigarette for troubleshooting. But be careful, this type of loading damages the batteries and the electronic cigarette in the long term.

An external charger is therefore an essential tool when you use an electronic cigarette with batteries. To do this, you will need to remove the batteries from your electronic cigarette and insert them in a specific charger for optimal charging, as shown opposite. Charging your batteries with an external charger extends the life of your batteries.

In addition, external chargers will evenly deliver the charge to your batteries, which guarantees better safety during charging. They also allow faster charging than charging by micro-USB or USB-C.

When should you charge your batteries?

To ensure a good lifespan for your batteries, it is preferable to put them to recharge before they are completely discharged. Contrary to what we could hear at the time of nickel-cadmium (NiCd) accumulators, today, it is no longer necessary there is no longer any need to do a complete charge cycle (discharge them completely to then recharge them to 100%) to guarantee the “memory” effect of this accumulator.

Now, Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries no longer have this “memory”. It is therefore possible to recharge them at any time, even if they have only been discharged by a few percent. It is even better to recharge your new batteries before they are completely discharged, which will extend their lifespan.

So today, you can recharge your Li-ion batteries whenever you want. Just be careful not to let your batteries charge overnight. It’s also best to keep an eye on them when they’re in charge and make sure to keep them in good condition: with poles that aren’t too damaged and protective wraps without tears or holes. Because an accumulator in poor condition, in your electronic cigarette as in a charger, can represent a risk for the people who are around it.
